Thanks for Caring - Distressed

Hello friends.  There isn't a better feeling in the world than to know that someone cares.  What would we do without family and wonderful friends?  I've been busy this week helping someone I care dearly for.  They are going through alot right now and I hope today is the start of a new look on life and what it has in store for them.

Todays card is Thank You for Caring.  Make sure you thank those in your life that are important to you.

I used Rick Razzleberry and Pear Pizazz for the base and mat.  The edge of the white piece was punched with the spiral punch and watercolor painted the flower.  The butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings and the sentiment is from Three Little Words.  It's a simple little card but sometimes it's better that way.

I will post again when I can.  I have lots of new ideas to share!  Thank you for caring and visiting my blog!  I hope you have a blessed day!

Happy Birthday - Card Maps

It's a chilly morning here in Florida.  The storm front that came through yesterday brought us back to cooler weather, but knowing Florida, it will be in the 80's again tomorrow.

Todays card is made using a card sketch from the Page Maps website.  I used the paper crimper (had to dig that out from the very back of my supply closet) to do the shimmery white cardstock.  I  stamped the flowers and punched them.  Once I arranged everything on the page, I added dimensionals to several of the pieces.  I pulled a string on the pear pizazz ribbon to gather it and then placed adhesive on my page and attached the ribbon.
Check in on Friday as I will be starting a give away that will run through the weekend!  If you missed out on a Sale-a-bration set, it may be your lucky day!

Happy Birthday with Crushed Curry

It seems March is a busy month for birthdays!  Today is my friend Shannon's birthday so I made her this card using Crushed Curry, one of the newest Stampin Up "In colors".

I stamped the daisys in crushed curry along the bottom of the card.  I wanted a few more flowers to fill in between so I stamped off with the crushed curry which creates a nice dimensional look without being too busy.

I finished the card by spraying with the Pearl Glimmer mist.  Using the glimmer mist tends to warp the paper a bit if sprayed to heavily but Stampin Up has a new product coming out which I hope gives the same "sparkle" without the warp.  I'll let you know when I try it out!

TGIF - Lovey Dovey!

Today I thought I would step out of the box and pick a color I have not used in a while!  I have to practice for the weekly color challenges to keep up with Lee because as soon as I post the challenge she knocks it out of the ball park with an outrageous card! :)

For this card I chose Perfect Plum, a beautiful shade of purple and stamped on the Shimmery cardstock (one of my favorite papers) it makes for a quite elegant card.  I embossed the perfect plum strip and used my new Beautiful Wings embosslit die.  They not only cut the shape for you but they emboss it at the same time!  NICE!

Here is the final product!  Leave me some comments and tell your friends about my blog! I am half way to 100 followers through Google reader, subscription and networked blogs.  As soon as I hit 100 I will have some blog candy! :)

TGIF!
