Congratulations Grad Coloring Black with Copics

Hello everyone! I am back from my little Copic class and I'm going to share my first project with you.

One of the techniques we learned was coloring black. Funny you won't use black! It's all done with Shades of Gray. I picked up this little Graduation girl as I knew I would need to make a few cards. I colored her, cut her out and put her on a simple base with a fishtail flag and she is done. I added a close up so you can see the detail.

Once I master hair. I'll share again. It may be a while. Lol

Before and After

I am up and the birds are singing! I am ready for some 90 degree weather and the warm Florida sun.

Today's card is a before and after. I found the original card on a blog (I forgot to bookmark) and cased it. I then redid the card and took it up a notch. I changed the color of the paper and added the black may for starters. I then stamped my images and colored them with Tim Holtz distressing ink. I also used the distressing ink on the edges of each piece and finished by using my glitter Gelly Roll pen to outline the lines in the image. They are attached using dimensionals and between those and the edges being distressed it really adds a nice WOW!

Try taking one of your cards and go from now to WOW!

Enjoy!

A Warm Hello Card starring Katie

In just a few weeks my best daughter in the world (as my cell phone announces when she calls will be graduating from middle school. I don't know where the time has gone but she has grown into a beautiful young woman with such a positive outlook on life. I'm proud to call her the best daughter in the world. On Sunday she decided she was going to participate in card class where everyone learned to tie a perfect bow and here she is with one of her cards sporting her perfect bow.

I love the colors of the card. We used our stamp pads and watercolored the stem of the flower and made the flower from punched shapes and a big threaded button. I always have to thread by buttons by simply running DMC floss through the holes. That's how I roll.

Enjoy!

You are Special Paper Smooches single layer card

It's a chilly start to this Thursday but it feels great. Opening of the beaches is this weekend to kick off the sand in your toes summer but the beach is already beautiful.

Today's card is a single layer (other than a mat) meaning no added pieces of paper. I stamped the monster on a piece of Kraft paper and colored him with Copics. He almost looks like denim. I couldn't let him go without some googlie eyes! I colored his tooth with my white gelly roll pen. To finish him off and add a little dimension, I took my white prismacolor pencil and shaded around the edge of his body! He's just adorable.

I am taking my first Copic class this weekend. I am excited to learn some new techniques which I'll be sharing when I return.

Enjoy!

A Little Birdy Told Me...

But I can't tell you yet but stay tuned as good news will follow!

I have recently discovered digital images and let me tell you it is so nice to be able to size your image to exactly what you need for your projects! Today's card is made from a digital image from cleardollarstamps. I love the whimsy look. I have already made three cards using this same image!

I used my Copics and colored the cute little bird and branch. The sentiment is an actual rubber stamp I had in my stash.

I'm dragging today from hauling right bags of top soil, spreading it (with the help of my awesome daughter) and planting three trays of plugs. I'm over it! LOL

Enjoy!

Somebirdy Special card

Good morning followers. Does anyone have any sleep remedies? I slept about five hours all weekend. Leave me a comment if you do! In dragging and would give anything to sleep all night just One Night! It wouldn't be so bad if I was creative during those waking hours! LOL

Today's card features stamps I just randomly stamped while visiting a friend. I'm not a fan of just stamping and having them sit around until I figured out what I could do with then. It when I saw these. I had an idea and here it is! I used my Copics and colored all of the pieces and cut then all out and layered them using dimensionals! You can see where i used the blender pen to create the texture to the nest. Isn't it just the cutest?

Enjoy. I'm off work.

Embossed Cherish Card

Hello everyone. I missed posting over the weekend but sometimes life happens and there aren't enough hours in the day.

Today's card uses multiple textures creates with embossing folders. The card is simple but the layers of textures creates a nice elegant finished project. The butterfly is cut using the Stampin Up embossing die which not only cuts the butterfly shape but also embossed.

Well I'm off to work. Enjoy!

Buzzworthy Paper Smooches Wobble Card

TGIF! Busy weekend ahead weather permitting!

Today's card uses a lot of pieces but I think it's one of my favorites. I used a paint chip as my inspiration and started layering. The sentiment is stamped on and punched using the word window punch from Stampin Up. The patterned paper was in my scrap stash. the scalloped border was made using the border punch. The bee is by Paper Smooches and I cut him out and added him onto a "wobble" which is a cute new creation that makes your cards move. Now my bee can actually "buzz buzz"!

Enjoy!

Thinking of you Spellbinders Pop Frame

Good morning everyone. Late start for me today. I even had one blogger email and ask why I was slacking! Too many irons in the fire these days I guess.

Todays card is a work in progress. You will definitely see if again but I thought I would post it so you could see the transition from now to WOW!

I used the Spellbinders die as cut one inside the other. I don't have a lot of these because I hate the width of the mats they create. They are just too big so I thought lets cut one inside of one and raise it with dimensionals to create a 3D frame and here is the results. I added a little blue to the edge for a little extra dimension.

You will see this one again in a week or two stay tuned!

Enjoy!

God Bless Paper Smooches embossed card

Hello everyone! I hope you all survived tax day!

Today's card uses a great technique. I punched circles (you could use whatever shape you wanted) and attached them randomly to my card and then embossed the whole sheet with my lattice embossing folder. It looks like one single layer of paper.

I then stamped the paper smooches bug and colored him with my Twinkling H2Os. Kinda gives him a "glow". I attached him to a larger circle with a scallop and added it to the card using dimensionals.

Enjoy!

Today's card is a cheery pink flamingo with a balloon. I colored him with my Copics added a border and coordinating ribbon and done! I'm getting addicted to these quick an easy cards!

A bonus tax day photo for your a shot of the Jacksonville Beach fishing pier taken from the rooftop of the Casa Marina hotel. Certainly takes your mind off of those dreaded taxes.

You are a friend

Happy Monday! What a beautiful and crazy weekend. Lots of going and doing. Five more days and do it again!

Today's card plays on various patterned papers coordinated together. I discovered I didn't use a lot of patterned paper. I'm not sure why when I look at my supply!

I selected a couple of cordon aging papers and layered them with black a couple of stamps and it all came together. I love the corner frame I added for a little wow. I also added three beads in black to coordinate with the cardstock.

Enjoy!!!

Hello with mixed bunch flower punch

Hello everyone! TGIF! A cool front has moved in and it's a chilly morning here in Sunny Florida. Last night at dinner it was warmer inside than out. Not typical.

Todays card is simple but very nice. I Started with a slate blue and vanilla paper. I punched the loop border in vanilla as well as the strip. The flower is punched in blue and unused a pencil to "roll" the edges up. I found this big clear button in my stash and attached it with a glue dot. Stamped a cute little hello and I was done.

Enjoy!

Unfrogettable an old but goodie

Hello everyone! Today's card uses an old Stampin Up set that has always been one of my favorites. I love the frog and mushroom and colored them with my copics.

I used the top note die for layering and attached with dimensionals. I cutout the frog and mushroom, tedious work but someone had to do it!

Two workouts yesterday....the Y and shopping with my girl!

Thinking of you Patterned Paper Strips

Hello everyone! I hope your week is progressing as fast as mine. I can't believe it's already Wednesday!

Today's card is another simple one. I took my card and divided the length if the card into the strips and allowed for an 1/8" space and cut the strips to fit. I then off stamped a floral stem for a faint color under the sentiment and added a perfect bow and my card was done.

Enjoy!

Simple Card using Patterned Paper

Hello everyone. Life goes back to normal today. Back to school and regular routine which includes walking and working out. It feels do good to get out and walk again.

Today's card couldn't be simpler! I took two patterned papers layered them and added a sentiment on a punch and a perfect bow! The patterned paper is actually one of the DCWV heavy glitter stacks. All of the coordinating work is done for you. I used to tear the stacks apart and sort them and finally decided to keep them together which makes decisions much easier. I now stack the stacks by theme in the bottom of my closet for lack of a better space for them.

Enjoy!

Wishing You Comfort with Top Note Die

Happy Monday everyone. It's the last day of Spring Break so one more day and then back to normal.

Today's card is just beautiful. I'm not a yellow person but I love this yellow and black combination. I used the Stampin Up Top Note die for the black and white mat (tutorial coming soon). The card base was embossed using the large dot embossing folder.

The stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I cut out the flowers and added them with dimensionals. Just lovely, don't you think?

Enjoy!

Hippity Hoppity Happy Easter Bunny Transparency Card

Hello Everyone. It's going to be a beautiful Saturday here in sunny Florida. I plan to be soaking up the sun all day long!

Today's card is done on a transparency base. I cut a piece of patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4" and put it on the inside of the card and decorated the front. I stamped the cutest little bunny and colored him with my copics. I then cut grass for the bottom and the stem and leaf and added little buttons for the flowers. I like to tie DMC floss through the holes of the buttons. I then cut a cloud and stamped the Hippity Hoppity Happy.

Enjoy!

Hello everyone! This card is appropriate today as I am dragging. Overslept this morning. I think I'm too old to go out every night of the week! LOL. It's going to be busy through the weekend. But I will survive!

Today's card is so cute and so simple to make! I colored the bug with my Copics. I used dimensionals and added him to the black matted base. I then drew a line around that mat after stamping the sentiment. The little pink ribbon is a perfect cheery splash of color.

Smile Stampin Up Framelit Die

Hello everyone! As promised here is one of the scraps from the piece of glittered cardstock I purchased to make the card using the label portion of the cardstock!

The cardstock is nice and sturdy due to the raised glitter circles in addition to the nice quality paper they used as a base. I used an old stamp I had in my stash and the Stampin Up Framelit embossing folder from sale a bration. Sale a Bration is over but the Framelits are in the regular catalog do you can still purchase them. I decided on black for my frame. Once embossed, I cut it out and added the image to the center and finished off with a cute little perfect bow!

Buttons Bows and Bling class information coming soon! You can leave a comment here and I will get you all of the 411!

You Are The Best Daisy card with Tim Holtz

Hello stampers! It's Spring Break week forbid in Sunny Florida. Yesterday it hit ninety three degrees and it was just beautiful. My daughter is a little lobster but she is thrilled to be able to spend time in the sun! I just love her designer way of putting in sunscreen! LOL

Today's card is one of my favorites. I used the Tim Holtz movers and shakers die and cut a white piece of cardstock and then used three distressing inks and blended them to create the base for the daisy. There are so many looks you can create using the distressing inks.

Next I stamped the daisy on white cardstock and colored it with my Copics. I then cut it out and attached it to the base using my dimensionals. The base of the card is black that I embossed using the large dot embossing folder. Lastly I added the sentiment and attached it to the card base.

Enjoy!

Feel Better Soon

What a busy day yesterday turned out to be. I went for a nice walk, tore apart the patio cleaned everything and put it back, planted my huge tomato plant, went to the grocery store and made nine paper Easter baskets and filled them. I can't believe it is April already.

Today's card is made with two stamps. A stem/leaf and a sentiment. The patterned paper does the work for this card. I used a button for the flower, added a ribbon and scallop circle and done. I just love the colors.

Happy Monday!

Butterfly and Polka dots. Cute little card

It's Sunday morning and I am usually up and on the go by seven! I hear the birds outside singing away so hopefully it's a sign the weather will be a little nicer today. Hopefully a walk on the beach will fit into the agenda.

Today's card is just the cutest. I love the simplicity and the colors are just so pleasing. I stamped the butterfly in two steps, punched him out using the coordinating punch and added him using dimensionals. I never bought this stampin up set but I think I may need to add it to the collection.

Have a blessed day!
